Plastic Surgery: Sponsorship Officer

Hi everyone, I’m Angie. Event planning has always been a passion of mine, and I’ve had the privilege of panning several events: most recently Freshers’ Fortnight and ICSM Music Society’s biggest events such as their tour. I would love to expand my experiences by exploring sponsorships with iPRAS. Over the summer, my roles in SU and Music Society have taught me a lot in fostering good relationships with external companies. I’ve learnt how to be persistent and demanding, as well as how to sell an event via email, phone calls or face-to-face. For iPRAS, I would like to:

  1. Maintain and strengthen communication with our existing sponsors, including MDU, Stryker, AMBOSS and Swann-Morton.
  2. Develop tailored sponsorship packages. I’ve seen Sean work with Freshers’ Fortnight sponsors first-hand, and I believe I can transfer the assets needed to align tiered interests to ensure a mutual benefit for both sponsor and iPRAS.
  3. Invite new partnerships with associations such as Geeky Medics, or BAPRAS or Royal College of Edinburgh, for accreditation, as well as fundraising for charities such as CLAPA and MSF. By diversifying our funding sources, we can establish collaboration with not only surgical companies, but also educational platforms and charities.

Securing sponsorships will not only help us cover essential costs but will also enable us to expand the scope of our events: bringing in high-profile speakers, offering better resources, and creating opportunities for hands-on learning that will benefit everyone.
