Students for Global Health: Projects and Volunteering Officer

Hi, I’m Heather Liu, an MPH Global Health candidate at Imperial College. My experiences working with organisations like Johns Hopkins Hospital, King’s Health Partners, and volunteering during the COVID-19 pandemic have shaped my passion for global health. I deeply value the role of volunteering in public health and believe that health is ultimately rooted in the community. Through volunteering, we embed ourselves into the community, creating meaningful change and deeper connections.

As your Projects and Volunteering Officer, I will focus on expanding a wide range of volunteering opportunities tailored to the diverse interests of our society members. I will create pathways for students to lead their own initiatives, providing support in securing funding, mentorship, and collaborations with external health organisations. Furthermore, I will introduce an impact measurement framework, allowing us to track and showcase the tangible benefits of our volunteering efforts, with the goal of establishing certified programs recognised by Imperial.

Together, we can build a stronger, more engaged Global Health Society that not only learns about public health but actively contributes to it. Vote for me, Heather Liu, and let’s make volunteering a cornerstone of our shared commitment to global health!
