With a background as a former Navy Captain and co-chair of Economics Society, I have developed a strong sense of discipline, precision, responsibility, and financial awareness. These traits are essential in managing a society's finances, including authorising expenditures, managing budgets, and liaising with the Finance team.
As a candidate for Treasurer of BioSoc, my primary aim is to bring a disciplined and structured approach to managing our society's finances. I am committed to ensuring that the society's financial resources are efficiently allocated and that all financial transactions are transparent, accountable, and in line with BioSoc’s goals.
I will ensure that committee members are regularly updated on financial income and expenditure, ensuring informed decision-making. I will also focus on enhancing fundraising opportunities by liaising with our sponsorship officer regarding sponsors and donations, securing the resources to carry out exciting events and initiatives.
With the right person in charge, I hope we can attract more of you than ever before to take part in our BioSoc events and hear your voices when it comes to managing the budget for an event that our members show particular interest in. I will work towards increasing BioSoc’s funding while managing it responsibly to benefit all members.
My approach is simple: by focusing on efficiency and transparency, I will make sure that BioSoc's finances are in safe hands. I would be honoured to bring my expertise and discipline within the field to this role, ensuring BioSoc continues to thrive financially.
