Hi guys, I'm Evelyn but I go by Eve 🥰 I'm a first-year microbiology student.
Within biology, there are multiple friend groups but these friend groups don't tend to mingle, as well as seniors not tending to know their juniors. My aim as treasurer is to allow these groups the opportunity to mingle through the use of funding to allow students (as well as second years and third years - if time permits) to create stronger friendships and connections.
My experience as treasurer and handling funds come from previous experiences in ABACUS where I've learnt to balance sheets and learnt how to properly handle the funds given to organise a proper event 😚
As potential treausrer I promise to dedicate the role to support student well-being as well as put the funds to good use to organise events demanded by student 😎, I promise to take the role with responsibility and to work with the team being elected. My skills include being a good communicator and being very open with people's opinion, I am very well versed in terms of planning events and handling the administrative matters of planning these events 😎. This role will allow me to interconnect the biology department event further and create a tighter knit community.
I will ensure funds are diverted to the right areas and ensure that any profit received from events will be ONLY directed towards students.
