Anya Chaudhary

Hello! I’m Anya, and as someone who started university debating before freshers week even ended, I am running for Vice President of the Debating Society.

Why I’m fit for the role:

• With the planning skills I gained from being president of my school's literary society, I make an organized leader. You’d have a vice president with everything planned, sorted, and executed as you need it;
• I empathize with the intimidation of being new to university debating, and I'd strive to create a welcoming environment for new members.
• In only 5 months of university debating, I have participated and volunteered in 10 competitions. I’m dedicated to this society and extremely motivated to keep improving as a debater, and this is an ideology that would come through in my contributions.

As vice president, I’d hope to:

• Encourage members to participate in competitions and ensure these opportunities are accessible
• Make sessions even more fun and constructive, and engage with feedback from members to keep improving.
• Help streamline training and practice for developing debaters. I’d be a strong voice for novice debaters looking for specific insights on improvement. I’d also pair speakers of different skill sets for spars and competitions so that we can all learn from one another.
• Organize events, potentially also in collaboration with other societies. And continue Imperial WGM, obviously!
