Kynthia Ravikumar
General Practice (ICSM): Specialty Liasion & Head of Strategy
              Why me?
- Extensive committee experience:
- President of GPPH Society 2024-25: Led society initiatives, expanded outreach, and strengthened engagement. Have a thorough understanding of all roles on committee and worked closely with Head of Strategy throughout the year (Christmas Networking event, Coffee and Careers Scheme, Specialties Debate event - all of which saw increased engagement this year.)
 - Annual Conference Chair of GPPH Society 2023-24: Organised the society’s largest event, connecting students with GPs and public health experts.

 - Close connections with primary care faculty:
- Built 2 years worth of rapport building with key faculty members, allowing for smooth collaboration (especially as many Head of Strategy events involve faculty invovement)
 - Established strong relationships with GPs and public health educators through networking at this year’s and last year’s conferences, creating a foundation for future speaker engagement and mentorship opportunities.

My ideas and plans for the role?
- Christmas Networking event:
- Assign tables with different GP specialties (e.g., rural GP, GPwSI, portfolio careers) so students can rotate and engage in more targeted discussions.
 - Incorporate an icebreaker game or GP-related quiz to encourage interaction.

 - Coffee and Careers scheme:
- Allow students to sign up for virtual coffee chats with GPs outside of London to expand access to more perspectives.

 - Specialties Debate event:
- Invite other specialty societies (e.g., surgical, emergency medicine) to co-host debates, ensuring a more balanced discussion and increased attendance.

Having already led the society as President, I bring firsthand experience in successfully managing events and building faculty partnerships. Vote for me!
