Hi, I’m Tony Alocious 👋
I’m currently an Executive Committee Member of SurgSoc and organised Orthopoedics Skills Day, one of the flagship conferences of SurgSoc. In this process and my conference secretary role for NeuroSoc I have learned a lot about Union bureaucracy, including event proposals, risk assessments, event budgets and room bookings. My familiarity with Union procedures, together with my NeuroSoc experience, would enable me to ensure that the society continues to function effectively over the coming year.
Hosting over 60 delegates!! and boasting 5 workshops, running an event of this scale has equipped me with the skills and knowledge required to be a valuable committee member of ICSM Surgical Society.
- My main hope for the coming year as Research Rep would be to involve all of committee in a regional level audit/QIP project.
- Increase our MedEd reseearch abstract, poster and poresentation output with the events that woul run next year.
- Involve members as collabroators on research project as well as making them co-authors for surgical research projects
- Run a Research In Surgery series in collabroation with SORA whom I have worked with in the past.
I am enthusiastic and eager to get involved, whether that be a conference chair or a series lead. I can’t wait to work with and learn from all of you!
