Tansy Xue
Hiya everyone, I’m Tansy and I’m a first-year medic :) As a current attendee of the FemTech Hackathon and someone who is passionate about women’s health and fixing the gender health gap, I’ve felt so inspired by the inspiring group of amazing individuals that this society is and would love to create even more inspiring and amazing events for everyone to get stuck into. In particular, I would:
1) Run more regular events (with snacks!). Depending on what people want to gain out of the society, these could include group discussions on women’s health topics, knowledge-sharing sessions between health-focused and tech-focused members (a bit like a hackathon but on a more chill basis), and inter-society collabs.
2) Organise group trips (e.g. to wider FemTech events in London/beyond) and socials!!
3) Arrange upskilling workshops to provide people with an opportunity to learn the skills which they would find most helpful, including soft and hard skills.
Having been a leader of my sixth form BioSoc and ChemSoc, I've really enjoyed running and innovating new events. As one of the current ImmunoSoc Conference Sponsorship Officers I’ve also had some insight into seeing how running societies works at a university-level logistically speaking. Thank you for considering voting for me and I hope I get to help in some way next year :)
