Shivit Kapoor

Hey, I’m Shivit, and I’d love to be your 2s captain next season.

I’ve been part of the 2s squad for the past two years and in that time, I’ve learned a lot about team dynamics, match strategy… and, most importantly, how not to lose to our 3s again (no shade, Shah 😅).

I started playing club cricket in Dubai at 12, took a long break, and only got back into it at uni – so I know what it’s like to rebuild your game and confidence. I really want to support that: creating an environment where everyone can grow, improve, and enjoy their cricket.

If I’m lucky enough to be captain, here’s what I’ll focus on:

• Friendlies vs. similar standard teams – more chances to play, improve, and enjoy the summer.

• Drill-based training – It’s a great way to build consistency and confidence, and I’d love to make it a regular part of our training.

• More indoor games at Ethos – Friday socials that are fun and improve outdoor performance.

• Clear roles and honest selection – something Shah did really well, and I’d love to carry forward.

• Team-led decision making – I want the 2s to be a squad where key decisions are made with the team, not just for it.

And hey, if resilience is key to leadership, getting flamed in the group chat for my Insta likes definitely prepared me.
