Botanical: Chair

Hello everyone! I'm Kelly, and I'm thrilled to run for Imperial's Botanical Society Chair. My journey with plants has been one of joy and discovery. I envision our society as a thriving ecosystem – a vibrant hub where every member, regardless of their course or botanical expertise, feels rooted and inspired.

My core vision is to cultivate a more inclusive, dynamic, and impactful community, making botany engaging for every Imperial student. I aim to:

  1. Blossom Community Engagement: Foster belonging through frequent plant swaps, quiz nights, and collaborative campus gardening projects.

  2. Nourish Knowledge & Skills: Expand educational offerings with hands-on workshops (propagation, practical gardening, terrarium building) and more field trips to botanical gardens and natural reserves.

  3. Branch Out with Impact & Sustainability: Make a tangible difference through campus greening initiatives, community outreach sharing the wonders of botany, and promoting eco-friendly practices within the society.

  4. Cultivate Inclusivity & Diversity: Ensure a welcoming space for all, promoting diversity across disciplines and creating events relevant to various botanical fields from science to urban gardening.

Why Vote for Me?

I bring enthusiasm and practical skills: organising successful society events, leading engaging study groups, managing complex projects, and hands-on volunteering at local botanical gardens. I'm proactive and collaborative, committed to fostering a vibrant and supportive botanical community.

Together, we can make the Botanical Society an enriching part of the Imperial experience. Let's grow our passion for plants and cultivate a thriving community.

Thank you for your consideration. I would be honoured to have your vote.
