Hello! I’m Anya, and I’m running for Tournaments Director of the Debating Society.

Why I’m fit for the role:

• I’m actively involved in the society and have gotten myself around the debate circuit by participating in 15+ competitions within this academic year. Consequently, I have familiarity with the people I’d be engaging with in convening and organizing competitions. Plus, I’m good with getting people to cooperate with me, and that’s quite crucial for this role.
• I’ve spent time acquainting myself with the responsibilities of the role of the tournaments director, engaging directly with the committee on the procedures that go into a competition.
• As an eager, organized, and sociable person, I’d be able to fulfill this management-heavy role competently and ensure that our competitions as a society are run efficiently.

As tournaments director, I’d hope to make Imperial debate competitions some of the best in universities BP debating, both on efficiency of logistics, and overall enjoyability. And lobby for better funding for the society.
