Hi! I'm Flick, and I'd love to be your next academic representative in Computing.

As Year 2 Academic Rep, I would:

Advocate for better exams and more transparency:

• Exams which better measure our understanding and ability in a topic, rather than the speed at which we write or our ability to regurgitate information. Time pressure isn't the way the desired average should be achieved.
• Transparency about mark distributions and scaling.

Advocate for better resources so everyone can feel confident that they understand each module:

• Encourage lectures to produce official notes, and problem sheets with worked solutions.
• Transparency when it comes to mark schemes for coursework. Being able to reflect on your coursework with official guidance will better prepare you for exams and allow you to focus your study time where it will be most effective.

And, of course, listen to your concerns:

• I'm sure there are things I've forgotten! I'd love to hear what you think.
• It's vital that everyone can have their say, so I would be regularly asking for you to share your concerns so I can put them forward at staff-student meetings.
• I'll maintain as much transparency as possible, so you know which decisions are made and why.
