Earth Science & Engineering (UG): Year One Academic Representative

Hello fellow Year 1 ESE students,

My name is Jing, and I am a student in the 4YFT EPS programme. I am running to be your Academic Representative because I want to help make our first year a supportive and successful experience for everyone, free from unnecessary stress.

I have a practical, two-point plan to achieve this:

1. A Direct Line for Your Questions: We’ve all had questions while reviewing notes, but it can be difficult to ask a lecturer directly due to shyness or their busy schedule. I will create an anonymous Microsoft Form for all our modules. You can submit questions anytime, and I will ensure they are delivered directly to the lecturers. This ensures you get clear answers, and also benefits everyone in the year group.

2. Tackling Deadline and Exam Stress: The pressure around assessment periods is intense. I will create a dedicated group chat for us to support each other with revision and coursework problems. More importantly, I will be your voice to the faculty. I will gather feedback on assessment schedules and proactively advocate for fairer, more manageable deadlines to prevent "deadline bunching" and reduce our collective stress.

I am organised, approachable, and genuinely committed to making sure our voice is heard. For a proactive representative who will deliver practical solutions, please vote for me.

You can see more details on my campaign poster.
