How do you do fellow student? Hopefully by the time you have read this we will have met each other around lectures or labs and you will vaguely know who I am!

I am standing to as a student representative for our course because I believe that with effective engagement with the department and university we can have better outcomes for us as students. Better MSc times, better life! And of course as a response to Josiah's pleading...!

I have had plenty of experience in the world of committees and bureaucracy in my time so managing that kind of thing is familiar to me. And I like to think that I am fairly approachable and easygoing, but equally I have the empathy to take people's concerns seriously; I was the welfare officer in my local cycling club in Edinburgh. As such I think I am well placed to act as the interface between us as a student body and the department. Equally I have known London a long time and like a social event so I am not short of ideas of what we might do there when looking for some downtime - like the cinema trip we did a few weeks back.
