Ray Shimada

Hi guys!!

My name is Ray Shimada, and I am a postgraduate taught student in MSc Composites. I am standing to be elected as the student representative of my course because I want to actively contribute to improving our academic and social experience at Imperial. I believe that good communication between students and staff is key to making our learning environment even better.

As your representative, I would aim to:

1. Hold 20-minute open meetings each week to listen to your concerns and suggestions — not only about coursework but also about wellbeing, career support, and student life.

2. Communicate regularly with course lecturers and department staff to make sure your feedback is heard and acted upon.

3. Encourage collaboration and inclusivity within our cohort by sharing information, supporting study groups, and creating opportunities to connect.

4. Report key issues transparently after staff meetings, so everyone stays informed about what’s being discussed and improved.

I’m approachable, organised, and genuinely committed to representing your voice. Let’s make our MSc Composites experience more enjoyable and supportive for everyone.
