In the wake of Lucy's retirement, It's going to be hard to fill those giant, large and huge shoes. But I will try my best regardless to uphold her legacy, via 3 conveniently memorable policies:
- Wellbeing workshops and hobby classes - I'll talk to Danny about setting up DE3 specific help sessions such as job application stress, mood boosting basics and sleep techniques!
- Sweet treat for filling in the MEQ at the end of term - mmmmm
- Enforcing the new policy of reducing workload - University shouldn't be all your free time in the library, we need time for societies, personal projects and instagram reels.
Wellbeing is all about maintaining a steady source of 'mental fuel' so I'll provide as many events as possible to recharge motivation and mood! Potentially: Art / Hobby classes, game tourneys (Mario Kart???!!), multi-sports sessions and of course food socials! (At least 1 Fireaway pizza dw)
I'm a strong advocate for mitigating circumstances and want to disarm any stigma - If you feel you need it, then you do need it. The rep's main job is to work with Danny to help approve it; I want to help everyone to get the equity they need to enjoy this year.
As someone who has benefitted from Imperial therapy services I can help you get set up with them too! (It's 5 free sessions every year) (free) (they're very helpful)
Please do come talk to me about any of this, I'm jobless and in dyson always. Also vote for me thanks!
