Kaaviya Thayalan
I would love to be considered for the role of Treasurer for next year's committee.
Attending the ICOGS Annual Conference last year, allowed me to further develop my interest in this field, by hearing from accomplished speakers, and participating in workshops, which included hands-on training in episiotomy techniques and laparoscopic procedures.
As the current treasurer for ICOGS, I have been responsible for liaising with the Events & Social Officer, President and Conference Co-Chairs, continually updating the annual budget and approving small claims throughout the year. I am already familiar with the financial training required of this role, and believe I am well equipped to complete this role to an excellent standard next year. During our annual conference, I was responsible for a group of delegates, ensuring the day was enjoyable, informative and ran smoothly. Furthermore, I liaised with Paediatric Society’s Sponsorship Officer, and successfully gained a sponsor for ICOGS.
As the current Publicity Officer in Imperial General Practice Society and Secretary in Dermatology Society, I have developed great communication, organisational and time management skills, assisting with both smaller scale events, and flagship events, so I am well accustomed to the intricate planning involved, when delivering a successful conference.
With experience as Company Secretary in Young Enterprise, I am capable of strict budgeting and planning, and believe I can strategically manage the society’s finances. I am proficient in Microsoft Excel, and I would love to facilitate new sponsorships, increase accessibility and better engage with our alumni.
