Hi All!
My name is Duru, a second-year biochemistry student with a year in management.
As the Head of Diversity, I will:
- Be the first line of communication for any needs, desires, or questions regarding any issues.
- Lease with the rest of the committee to create special sessions on international student employability schemes. (In collaboration with the sponsors and careers services)
- Work together with our sponsors
- Generate a “fund” for underrepresented groups to take part and gain experience.
- Collaborate with societies within our union and from other universities to form a diversity network.
- As a member of the Dartmouth Women in Finance Network, I will bring special recruitment events for all groups of people.
- Create a safe, collaborative, open-minded, and comfortable ecosystem for the society so that all feel welcome to join, regardless of knowledge or experience level.
I believe with my great network of people, past experiences as secretary of the Change Makers Club, Social Events Officer of the Biochemistry Club, Treasurer of the Opera Society and the International Students Well-being Officer, and experiences as a female international student breaking into finance, I can provide the utmost support our members need and help create events that will represent all groups of people. I hope to make finance easier and more approachable for everyone interested!
Thank you for reading my manifesto! If you have any questions, feel free to contact me from ddc22@ic.ac.uk.
