Hey all!
I’m Utkarsh Jetly, and I’m running for the position of Vice President (Clubs and Societies) at the Royal College of Science Union. I’m super excited about this opportunity and want to share my vision with you all. Here’s what I plan to bring to the table:
1. Clubs and societies are the heart and soul of our student community. I want to ensure every group has a direct line to the RCSU for support and resources. I’ll set up regular meetups and feedback sessions to hear your ideas, concerns, and successes.
2. I want to make life easier for our club and society leaders. I’ll work to simplify the processes involved in running your societies: from booking spaces to accessing funds.
3. I want to foster more collaboration between different clubs and societies. We can have joint events, shared projects, and innovative initiatives that bring diverse groups together and create a richer student experience.
4. Recognition and Celebration: I plan on introducing regular showcases and awards to highlight the fantastic work of our clubs and societies.
5. I'm aware that running a society can be stressful. I’ll prioritize mental health and wellbeing initiatives to support our leaders and members: access to mental health resources/a supportive community environment.
Why me? As PhotoSoc Sec, I understand the challenges and rewards of running a student group. I’m passionate and keen to dedicate my time to making our societies the best they can be.
