Sabrina Cruz

Hi everyone! My name is Sabrina Cruz, a First Year Medical Biosciences with Management Student running for the Liaison position in the Women in SET Society.

University is a time to expand your knowledge and gain new interests, but it is also an important stage in your life on the way to pursuing a career. Finding a profession that interests you can be challenging, so being able to talk to Alumni or sponsorship companies or attend events where you learn more about certain occupations can be a great help.

As a liaison between WSET and our sponsors, I will be dedicated to creating CV workshops and Panel workshops etc, to help members of this society get the information needed for their future. In this position, I hope to nurture our existing relationships and also create new ones with a range of other companies. This would enable us to access a wider range of professions and job sectors to help every member of WSET.

Although Liaison would require a lot of work, I would be suited for this role due to my previous experience as a tutor and STEM subject leader during Sixth Form. I have developed my time management and communication skills that would enable me to connect with our sponsors and help them understand precisely what Women in SET need for joint events.
