Plastic Surgery: Emergencies in Plastics Conference Chair
As co-chairs for Emergencies in Plastics, Anuska & I will introduce:
- Diverse lectures & new workshops to reduce overlap between conferences.
- Possible integration with Orthopaedics/Oral Maxillofacial/ENT to attract a wider audience.
- Compile library of introductory videos + resources accessible to all attendees, covering lectures, workshop demonstrations & essential skills.
- Practical (dry + wet) workshops & a station discussing patient case studies, allowing students to gain an insight into real-life trauma scenarios, made interactive by asking questions that require situational judgement & scientific knowledge.
- Increase female speakers to inspire more women to enter Plastics + continue inviting experts with firsthand war zone experience, e.g. Gaza.
- Panel discussion with speakers + Q&A for audience participation.
- Mentorship Programme - opportunity to gain deeper insight into the field of Plastics.
- Like other conferences, host a poster competition - gives opportunity to present research within Trauma/Orthopaedics/Oral Maxillofacial
- Consider 2 day event - accommodates a greater range of workshops + lectures.
As publicity officer for Hindu Society, I have extensive social media & marketing skills - creating eye-catching posts & videos to boost event promotion, which reached record attendances this year. I aspire to achieve the same as conference lead, while working with the publicity team. As the incoming Secretary of Dermatology Society and my past expertise in organising major events, I’m confident in my ability to collaborate and work towards common goals.
With my passion for plastics & trauma alongside various committee experiences, I'm well versed in implementing our new ideas and running the event smoothly.
