I'm Thive and I would love to be your head of acts next year.
From being an audience member to having performed at MM30 for Yaathra, I appreciate the importance of head of acts and how crucial they are to ensure the calibre of the performances remains high. Furthermore, I have been a Bharatanatyam dancer for 15 years and have regularly taken part in large-scale performances as well as choreographing routines, so I am familiar with the elements of a stage production that are necessary for a successful show. Furthermore, my background in Carnatic music helps me to understand the dynamics of live performances and the technical components of dance and music such as choreography choices, timing, and song selection.
My experience organising dance shows at school has allowed me to liaise with other choreographers, suggest changes and ensure they are comfortable.
Being part of subcommittee and assisting in organising games night gave me an insight into creating a good atmosphere and having an event run smoothly. Moreover, taking part in sponsorship day allowed me to see how vital it is for MM to thrive each year.
Aims:
- Ensure there is sufficient rehearsal space for all the acts
- Ensure there is a prominent sense of culture throughout the performances
I know this role has great importance in ensuring Mega Maalai remains an iconic showcase of young Tamil talent and I believe I have the skills to ensure this.
