Hi, I'm Jin Tao and I'm running for the role of Phase 1c Academic Representative this year!

In this role, I would like to work with you to further build upon the work previous academic representatives have done to improve the course and student experience. 3rd year marking the start of predominantly being in the clinical environment can be challenging, so I want to ensure that from an academic standpoint, things run as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

Some of the things I would like to address which have stood out since we have started include:

• teaching sessions consistently running over,
• the availability of up-to-date slides on Insendi before and during teaching sessions, and
• making the amount of content in teaching sessions more appropriate for the allocated time.

I respond to messages and emails quickly, so can act as an effective bridge between you and Faculty, and I act promptly when tasks and problems arise, which I have demonstrated through the secretary position for both MedEd and ICSM Vision. I also have experience collaborating with Faculty staff, as well as staff from other Imperial departments, through working on academic outreach programmes and admissions-related events, which would put me in good stead for this role.
