Chemical Engineering (UG): Year One Academic Representative

Experiment: Why should you vote for Jayden as Student Representative

Context: Academic representatives serve as a link between students and the faculty, making sure that pressing issues are brought to light and listened to.

Target: Making sure that everyone's perspectives are heard and equally represented regardless of background.

Equipment:

- a little bit of your time

- a few emails here and there

- your vote

- some surveys every so often

Method:

1. Will gather data on student experiences weekly through a survey on all lectures, design project activities, and academic resources. Any issues will be brought up immediately at meetings with staff and ChemEng representatives.

2. Update students regularly, via email, about the progress and exact nature of decisions made during meetings to make sure there is full transparency between students and representatives.

3. Make sure any decisions made, e.g., what's on the Physical Chemistry Formula sheet, are supported by the majority of students and therefore representative of the student body.

4. Ensure that students of different backgrounds, interests, and cultures are represented and their opinion is included in discussions. Proactively reach out to underrepresented groups to better understand their academic needs and challenges.

Conclusion: I'd love to make sure your views and opinions are heard at the regular staff-representatives meetings so VOTE JAYDEN! Thank You!!
