Chemical Engineering (UG): Year One Academic Representative

Hi everyone!

My name is Marina, and I’m from Greece. I’m excited to run for Academic Representative this year!

In my school, I was an active member of the student council for six years. I was president of junior high, class president x 3 and vice president of senior high.

Being a fresher, I can see how impactful the Year Representative role can be – communicating our thoughts to the academic departmentals and lecturers, making sure no one is falling behind, nobody feels overwhelmed with the coursework.

Here’s my (brief) game plan:

1. Talk it Out: Let’s create chill hangouts-like forums and quick surveys where you can share what’s up with classes—no more “silent suffering”! We all have thoughts and concerns about our classes. Your voice matters!

2. We Got This: University can feel like a tough boss battle (especially ChemEng). I’ll push for more tutoring and study groups, improve feedback quality and exam timelines—because sometimes 24hrs in a day aren’t enough!

3. Beyond the Classroom: Learning isn’t just about lectures! I’ll work to bring in more internships and research opportunities that help us grow (flex our skills) and meet cool people.

Final Thoughts

I’m here to listen, support, and make changes that matter tous. Let’s make this year epic—full of laughs, learning, and support.

Thank you for reading my manifesto and feel free to get in contact with me to ask any questions about my ideas! I’m committed, decisive and devoted and I promise will not let you down.
