Hey everyone, my name is Li Fa; you might know me as Leo. I am running for the position of first-year Chemical Engineering Department Academic Representative. Not many of you may be aware, but even though I am from China, I actually spent a great amount of time growing up in Greece. This has been a very unique experience for me. Having studied abroad for many years, I understand the difficulty of adapting to a new environment while keeping up with academic demands. It is a challenge for both international and home students when experiencing university life.
As your first-year academic representative, I will act as a bridge between students and lecturers, ensuring that your concerns are heard and addressed. Whether it's academic struggles, workload management, or social integration, I will listen to your needs and communicate them effectively to faculty.
My time on the student council in high school allowed me to develop strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills. Organizing various events taught me the importance of collaboration and advocacy, which I will bring to this role.
Although the academic life at Imperial can be challenging, I am willing and confident to help everyone learn from our experiences and support each other in tackling the challenges of university life.
