Haider Nazerali

I'm Haider, a 5th-year medical student, former ICSMSU President (2023-24), and previous Union Council UG Medicine Rep (2020-21). I have extensive experience representing medical and biomedical students at Union Council and am familiar with the current sabbatical officers, council chair, and other CU Presidents. My background in public speaking, debating, and navigating Union and College structures gives me a strong platform to advocate for you.

I have successfully co-written, presented and passed papers at UC, including The Union’s stance on Gaza (2024) and the The Union’s Divestment from arms-dealer Lockheed Martin (2021).

My priorities this year include:

1. Keeping the conversation on Palestine and human rights ongoing at Imperial, as I have in previous years
2. Defending the interests of the medical students alongside the ICSMSU President and the Academic and Welfare Chairs, who also hold seats on Union Council
3. Representing Muslim students at ICSM e.g. on issues like campus catering, student spaces, and student activities.
4. Consistently listening to you - my peers - on issues you believe UC should address and encouraging more students to write and present papers at council
