In my first year, I explored different specialities by attending various conferences. The cardiology and cardiothoracic conference stood out, particularly because working with the heart during the workshop was an incredible learning experience. I found its complexity fascinating — intricate yet efficient. This sparked a deeper interest in cardiology, and I’m eager to continue pursuing this passion by joining the committee. Being part of this team will allow me to deepen my knowledge, connect with like-minded individuals, and build relationships with esteemed doctors, similar to those I met during the "Coming to America" series.

After expressing my passion to the former chair, Karan, he strongly recommended I join the Cardiovascular Society. He emphasised that the role demands reliability, especially in managing event logistics, ensuring everything is organised and runs smoothly. I’m confident I will be able to handle these responsibilities by keeping protected time to fulfil my role as best as I can and support my team through any challenges by having open honest conversations. I love making the most of every opportunity, am always looking to support the team wherever I can and am not afraid to take the lead.
