Hi everyone, I’m Vaishaanth, and I’m running to be your Conference Chair!

I’ve been involved in multiple societies over the years, giving me plenty of experience in organising events and securing funding. As Doctorpreneurs President, I’ve grown the society and raised over £700 for our inaugural conference. As Oncology Society Vice President, I worked with an ST3 doctor to set up an oncology teaching series for first- and second-year students. Before that, as Sponsorship Officer, I helped secure funding for the Oncology Society’s conference. These roles have strengthened my ability to run a smooth and successful event.

What I want to do as Conference Chair:

1. Make it a 2-day event –

• Day 1: Respiratory Medicine – Talks and discussions on key topics in the field.
• Day 2: Thoracic Surgery – Featuring hands-on workshops like:
  • Lobectomy Simulation
  • Chest Drain Insertion
  • Bronchoscopy & Airway Management

2. Collaborate with other London university respiratory societies to grow the conference even further.

3. Encourage research and innovation – Set up a networking session with top academics, while the winner of the poster competition will get a research opportunity with a leading team.
