Hi, I'm Naz —yes, you probably know me from our WhatsApp group chat— and I'm running to be your Academic Year Rep! We’re only a few weeks in, and many of us are still settling into Imperial, trying to get to know the new faces around us, especially international students like me who are adapting to a new country. I want to represent you, be the bridge between students and the department, and voice the problems you're not sure anyone else is facing (trust me, they are). I believe that good communication and small, practical changes can make our first year much smoother. I want everyone, no matter where they’re from, to feel included and confident speaking up.
If elected, I’ll create short monthly feedback forms so every concern is heard and summarised transparently in our group chat to make everything easy to access. I’ll raise specific issues that affect our studies, like improving the usability of Lambda, which can make studying for our maths coursework more difficult than it needs to be. I’ll also work to organise optional study sessions before major exams and assessment deadlines, helping us support one another academically and personally. My aim is simple: by the end of the year, I want every BioSci student to feel that their feedback has turned into real action. Check out all candidates and their manifestos, and vote Naz if you want a rep who listens first, speaks up second, and reminds us that we’re in this together.
