Hi everyone! My name is Ylva, and I am running for year one academic representative for biology students. Before writing this, I tried to figure out what policies and changes I wish to fulfil as your bio-rep. To be frank, I have only been here for 2.5 weeks, and I genuinely don’t know. I have come to realise that changing things according to what I want, is not my role anyway. As a representative, my main objective will be to listen to your wishes and strive to make the changes that you are looking for. As 1^st years, we are encouraged to make mistakes, meet new people, and have fun. But mainly, we are here to learn. I wish to make our educational experience as optimal as possible through being the middle woman between us students and the department. I believe I am a good fit for this position as I am unafraid to both tell things how they are and argue for any necessary change. Furthermore, and most importantly, I care. I care about making a difference, and I care about improving our education. All in all, my main goals are to improve your experience as a student and being a trustworthy person to reach out to about academic issues. If this is what you’re looking for, vote for me!
