Design Engineering (UG): Year One Academic Representative

I like to do rizz in my spare time, and here are the reasons why YOU should vote for me as your Academic Representative.

I see myself as someone who brings people together. Practicing rizzing has taught me communication skills that enable me to build “bridges” between professors and students. Rizzing is all about making your feelings heard in a lighthearted way, which is the same approach I would take in representing our cohort. I’m eager to advocate for our needs, especially when it comes to providing feedback to course staff at Staff-Student Committees.

The most valuable lesson I’ve learned from rizzing is the importance of bringing happiness to the room. As your representative, I will always be open to constructive criticisms about any academic matters that could be improved to make lives easier. More importantly, I genuinely want to help you with any concerns you have, whether academic or personal. If you take nothing else from this manifesto, please remember that the person sitting in the front row with a navy blazer and scarf is always happy to listen to your worries.

Finally, I’d like to leave you with a thought: Sea otters hold hands when they sleep so they don’t drift apart when the water flows too fast. In this fast-paced whirlpool we call “university,” let’s come hand in hand this academic year to make it the best it can be. Thanks for reading, I appreciate your support.
*Rizz: the ability to confidently approach people and talk to them.
