Jawad Uddin
Hey there! I’m Jawad, I’m running for academic rep because I want to amplify the collaborative spirt in our department and improve learning experiences. I plan to work with staff to integrate metacognitive strategies into our work – strategies that help students build a deeper awareness of how they learn and how much they’re learning. My vision for the next year is to transform our learning experience into an iterative process – RARE: Reflect, Adapt, Refine, Evolve. As academic rep, you can expect me to carry your voices forward throughout this process, strengthening the bridge between staff and students.
I’m well versed in positions of responsibility like this one. Earlier this year, I led the organisation of an Interfaith Iftar event at my secondary school, hosting over 200 people and raising £2600 for a refugee charity. Just as that event promoted diversity and community, I aim to be inclusive in my approach, benefitting from our diverse perspectives as a cohort. Regular communication via our WhatsApp chats will be crucial to achieving this. Expect a transformed, inclusive, and enjoyable learning experience if you vote for me!
