Mahi Patel

I'm Mahi, a second-year medical student with an interest in gastroenterology and hepatology. This interest was sparked during a recent placement where I was able to observe a hepatic lobectomy and watch the use of an APC tool in action. My appreciation for the field was deepened when upon further research I discovered how varied both the medical and surgical fields are - I am keen to explore this further through research and an active role within the society.

Through my experience having run science workshops and charity events I have gained hands-on skills in budgeting and working collaboratively to ensure funds are used efficiently. As treasurer I would like to use the funds towards supporting accessible conferences, a range of workshops and research opportunities that would incentivise people to join in a financially inclusive way.

I hope to get the opportunity to join the committee!
