Sijung Lee
Hi everyone!
I’m Sijung, a first-year biochemistry undergraduate who is passionate about advocating for women at Imperial who are passionate about Science, Engineering and Technology. Through Women in SET, I hope to contribute my voice to the vast ideas of academic and social events that the committee and society members have and create a sense of community!
In particular, I want to promote new workshops to gain coding skills relevant in today’s digital world, as well as AI related sessions to discuss future technology developments so that we can learn from each other and become more confident in our fields. I am also excited for more fun social events like trips around London to museums, Kew Gardens, food places, cinemas, etc.
I am adaptive to change and enjoy taking initiative in organising and advertising events. From planning and organising events such as conferences in collaboration with the UN, internal and external mathematics competitions, and charity events with non-profit organisations, I have confidence in my skills to communicate with larger organisations and provide initiative in a process of creating collaborative and meaningful experiences for everyone, especially during busy seasons like International Women’s Week.
As a current copy editor of Felix, I am familiar with the process of elevating student voices and wish to collaborate more with our newspaper. I will write blogs and articles related to important Women in SET events and initiatives to enhance the voices of women and provide more opportunities for everyone to get involved.
