Dear Investment Society Members,
I’m Dmitriy, a second year Chemistry student and I am running for Treasurer. I may be known to some of you through my participation in QT Capital pitches for the Consumer Staples Equity Team, during which I found great joy in analysing the financial health of companies.
My enthusiasm for this role is driven by my recognition of the critical need for financial integrity, precise accounting of financial transactions, and prudent budget management. Overseeing vendor payments totalling over £10,000 when volunteering to handle the finances for a technology fair aimed at fostering interest in STEM among young people, has prepared me well to serve you as the Treasurer of the society.
Furthermore, as a Spring Intern for Corporate Finance at Deutsche Bank, I believe I am in a great position to use my network to open new possibilities for our society.
I aim to help the overall society by:
- Implementing a budgeting plan that strategically allocates funds to maximize the society's lecture courses, networking events, and QT Capital’s investment opportunities. This approach will ensure optimal use of resources to support the society's goals.
- Creating a lecture series on making investment decisions with techniques for managing stress associated with financial risks. This will empower members with the tools needed to make investment choices under pressure.
- Developing a comprehensive communication strategy to ensure, coordinated interaction between the society and union representatives, stakeholders, and society members, facilitating event execution and informed participation.
