My reason for applying as Year 1 & 2 Representative:

• Have experience and success working as a freshers representative which saw a rise in attendance at events and it taught me the importance of publicising well through social platforms and maintaining good relationships as word of mouth is very effective.

• Have connections to both year 1 & 2 as I have confirmed my role as Muslim Medics Year 1 coordinator where I will be managing delivery of high quality tutorials to the new freshers. This will give me an insight into how to present academic resources in an attractive way to this year group and I want to apply these skills to attract people to cardiology events.

• Having attended the cardiology conference this year, I particularly enjoyed the workshops as it was a great hands-on experience and I want to ensure the early medical students can also get the same experience hence this role allows me to get an insight into how conference are also run

• I want to make improvements through collecting feedback through setting up surveys that target our early year medical students and use interviews to gain more understanding into how to improve their experience of this society.
