Cardiovascular: Year 1/2 Representative

Hello, I’m Gaya and I am running to be your Year 1/2 representative for the upcoming year!

Having been actively involved in Cardiovascular Society events, the opportunity to further collaborate with individuals sharing the same passion is one of many reasons I wish to take on this role, moreover the rewarding and fulfilling nature of it excites me.

My Aims:

Along with tutorials, creating a cardiology question bank by designing and collating questions of varying formats (SBA, VSAQs, SAQ) and increasing accessibility to these materials via relevant platforms such as TEAMS and ICSMSU Notebank
Increasing support and opportunities for students to voice opinions/ ideas via surveys and improve engagement by understanding their interests
Organise sessions where students can come together to discuss recent cardiovascular research/ cases and explore outside their curriculum

In regards to experience, as county chess captain, I’ve had the opportunity to lead players of various ages and actively engage in tasks such as coordinating logistics, analysing performance and acting as the primary liaison between team members and officials, all whilst creating a supportive and enjoyable environment. Proactiveness, effective communication and delegation are also skills I have developed through leadership positions such as orchestra manager of ICSM Music and YRC committee.

I believe these aforementioned skills along with my enthusiasm will aid me in being a capable Y1/2 representative and through this role, I hope to give back to others by creating an experience that is as enjoyable as it was once for me, if not even better!
