Helen Antrobus

Hi everyone! My name is Helen, and I’m running to be your Year 1 Academic Rep. Physics isn’t easy and we all have different levels of knowledge. Therefore, it is my goal to make sure that nobody is left behind, and your academic concerns are heard so that we can enjoy our most sociable year of uni.

Following discussion with many of you, as well as older students, it’s clear that additional support for computing would benefit many year 1 physicists. I will strive to improve the academic experience by:

• Campaigning for supplementary resources for computing, such as further optional worksheets and a ‘wiki’ containing the worksheets, example solutions and example programs

• Creating a WhatsApp computing group where you can access support from other students

• Organising a study group on Blackett level 8 where you can collaborate with other students

More generally, I want to be as accessible as possible to make sure that any issues you have are heard and acted upon, which I plan to achieve through monthly surveys and online presence. I will always be reachable via email and Instagram and report any urgent issues to the Departmental Academic Rep.
